    I have a multisite with problems and have restored my Updraft backup, all parts of it. However, the process stops when the uplaods are installed. Message: “A critical error has occured on your webbsite.”

    I have been able to restore the media archive for the main site but not the files in wp-content/uploads/sites/ i.e. all media files for the “subsites”.

    Restoration process can stall/halt depending upon the total backup size and available server configuration, PHP timeouts can stall/halt the restoration process.

    If you are trying to restore all backup sets at once, instead I’ll suggest you to restore each backup set one by one i.e. First restore Plugins > Themes > Uploads > Others and at the end restore the database.

    Let us know if above method helps to fix the issue.

    Thanks for the answer. I have tried to restore “Uppladdningar” (Uploads) separately and I have also tried to do that for one subdirectory, but the process still get critical error. The folder wp-content/uploads/sites is empty.

    In the backup-process we get eight upload.zip files. The folder wp-content/uploads/sites seems to be empty in these files.

    Maybe I have to increase the php_execution_time?

    @gunilla

    Yes can you please increase the max_execution_time in php.ini file and check if it helps to fix the issue?

    I have now asked the web host to restore one of their bakups. I hopa it will solve the problem.

    @gunilla

    Sure! Let us know if increasing the value helps to fix the issue

    I have not tested to increase the php timeout value. My web host installed a backup yesterday and now the website is okay.

    @gunilla

    Glad to hear the website is back online, I’ll mark this as resolved for now.

    If you have anymore questions, please submit a new thread.

    Thanks,

    Is it possible to exclude the folder Uploads in the backup of files, the large folder which is the problem in restore?
