Updraft – Unable to Complete Backups

    Backups retries and timeouts cause backups to fail,
    even when only set to 1,096 file size and only backing up uploads.
    Many retries and timeouts once it completes the first 4 zip files
    of uploads. Site is only 15gb.
    So far host’s attempts have failed to fix the problem,
    with the Uploads backups dying, after many resumptions (7 last time) before dying.

    It never completes…. Host says they have fixed PHP…

    No problem backing up themes, etc., only Uploads.

    Found the host had not applied their std SSL, & believe
    that is why I found Cron jobs not running. I am hoping
    that fixing the SSL will result in good backups with no
    problems, the tmp files being deleted, readable zip files,
    etc. I believe the Cron jobs not running could have been
    causing the problem. I will re-try the backup later today
    once the ssl is active (again). Got them to ensure ssl
    was applied to my other 5 sites on a separate acct.
    It was in effect before, so I’m not sure how SSSL got unapplied.

    You have fixed the issue!!!

    After applying latest backup.php, set to 4,024 size.
    Although saw up to 8 retries at up to 344 seconds, it was
    successful in fully completing the backup with all files!!!

    I set to enforce https during the backup.

    For some reason the system shows a duplicate backup, maybe
    because the Cron didn’t delete the .tmp files soon enough
    after the backup, however, the tmp files were deleted,
    leaving only the good .zip files, which I’m downloading now.

    I cannot express my appreciation enough for your solving this problem.
    Showing a duplicate backup is not a problem for me because the backup
    now works great!

    Just completed another successful 4,024 file sized backup, quickly,
    with no problems. It left no tmp files, and it works great now, and
    left no duplicate backup showing. Downloaded zip files open fine.
