OK, so this is weird. I’ve uninstalled updraft which I did have doing regular backups to my dropbox account. However, my dropbox is still receiving backup files on schedule!

So even though updraft has been uninstalled it’s still performing backups. How is this occurring, and how do I stop it?

    Hi,

Please could you check your site’s wp-content/plugins directory via FTP, and remove any ‘updraftplus’ folder?

Do you have any other sites that might be making backups? For example, any development or staging sites?

If you download the database backup, remove the compression (with any suitable tool), and open it in a text editor, it’ll tell you at the top which site it was created on.

Thanks David and dnutbourne – colour me red in the face, it was actually the staging site sending the backup which of course was using the same name for the backup file since it’s a direct clone!

    Apologies!

    You’re welcome!

If you find UpdraftPlus useful, then please give us a positive review, here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/view/plugin-reviews/updraftplus?rate=5#postform

(If we’re not yet worth 5 stars, then please don’t review, but instead reply here to let us know why not – reviews less than 5 stars bring our average down!).

    Best wishes,
    David
