UpdraftPlus fails to restore database in remote
-
Hello,
I’ve always used sucessfully UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore locally. Once published the site, Updraft has failed to restore the database. It may depend on my hosting provider, or missing settings in the plugin, like credentials to operate with database?
thank you

Hi,
Can you describe some of the symptoms of the problem you’re having? Was there a log file, or any error messages?
Best wishes,
DavidHi David,
after running the restore I get the following message:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, [no address given] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
I’ve contacted my provider and he says that server log file is not available for security reason, but only php_error.log. Can it be useful to understand the problem?

Yes, potentially.
Also, please post the restoration log that’s in the folder wp-content/updraft.
David
Ok, it should be this:

0206.863 () Unpacking backup… (backup_2015-08-20-1614_NameSite_929ee197fd58-uploads3.zip, 429.2 Mb)Hi,
It looks like your webserver kills off the restore whilst unzipping the uploads – which is large, so it seems to hit a time limit and the webserver kills it off.
To overcome this, try a new restore of *only* the uploads. This will allow all the time to be given to just that, which should improve the chances of success. (And since the other components are already restored, only these now need restoring).
David
At the moment I ‘ve restored manually the site.
For a next time, do you suggest me to restore in two steps,
before only the uploads, and then the other components, right?thank you.
Hi,
Yes – though, with the uploads, the order doesn’t matter, whether you do them before or after other parts, as all UD is doing with those is unzipping the zip into wp-content/uploads.
David
