• I have been trying to configure UpDraftPlus to work with my Google Drive for several hours today and consistently get the error “Have not yet obtained an access token from Google – you need to authorise or re-authorise your connection to Google Drive.”

The app is authorized. Below is the Error log form UpDraftPlus

I have tried numerous SSL settings under advance, I have went through the API setup numerous times and still it does not work. I am long time web programmer so I’m not a rookie and this one is really puzzling me. I really want this to work so I’m willing try and solve it.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Big Question: My Google account uses 2 factor authentication and I am wondering if that is possibly the problem. Has UpDraftPlus been tested with 2 factor authentication? I could find no reference to it in the documentation nor is there a field in the app to enter a Google Application-specific passwords.

I have verified that under Google Connected Sites, Apps and Services that “UpdraftPlus — Google Docs, Google Docs, Drive API, By file Drive API, Google Docs” has access.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Rob,

The critical line is the one before:
0001.055 (0) Error message: SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate

I’ve spotted an issue which could affect one of the SSL settings on Google Drive. Please de-install UD, then re-install with the developer version:

    https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/updraftplus.zip

    Then:
    – Make sure that the option “Use the server’s SSL certificates:” in the ‘Expert’ section is ON.
    – Then save settings.
    – Then re-authorise (click on the authorisation link in the Google Drive settings section on the UD settings page).

Then I’m hopeful that may fix it.

2-factor auth is not a problem. I use it myself.

    David,

It is working now and files have successfully copied to my Google Drive. So thanks for you help.

The developer version solved the issue.

One difference from what you posted above.

I could NOT authenticate my Google account with “Use the server’s SSL certificates:” … after I “unchecked” the option it all worked with the version of the software you gave me.

    hi
    when clicking on:
Click here to authenticate your Google Drive account (you will not be able to back up to Google Drive without it

    i got an error
    redirect_uri_mismatch
The redirect URI in the request: https://xxxxxxxxxxxxxx/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=updraftplus&action=updraftmethod-googledrive-auth did not match a registered redirect URI

    what does it mean?
how i can correct it ?
    Iritt
