UpdraftPlus Not Creating Backups

    Our updrafts plugin is not creating backups. I tried to reach out to my hosting providers’ WP support. They advised me to delete our WP Search plugin and EWW Optimizer plugin because they had too many rows. I removed the plugins and tried to rerun the backup with no success.

    Currently, when I try to complete a backup, the Updrafts plugin will run for at least 30 minutes. When I check on the status of the backup, the buffering bar is gone and no backup, or long has been created.

    The last recorded log message is: “Zip size is at/near split limit (30 MB / 30 MB) – bumping index (from: 6) (Mar 05 09:40:37)”

    We do have two backups that were completed before we deleted the plugins. One from January 30, 2020, says “apparently” successful backup and another from February 20, 2020. I am not sure if this backup was successful.

    Please let me know if you have any advice on how we can move forward. Any help you can offer is much appreciated.

    Hi,

    I have similar problem with heavier wp site (about 3GB). On the same host lighter wp site works perfectly with updraft but the first one by no means.
    Is there some limits with updraft free version?
    i would also like to know is it the same limit with paid version.

    Hi,

    UpdraftPlus does not have any limits. As mentioned above, it is dependent on your server’s resources. You can ask your host to check on the server log for errors. They should be able to find out the exact cause of why the backup could not complete.
