• Hi All,

I’ve just upgrade my WP from latest 2.5 to 2.6, I thought all the upgrade was fine until I found something weird in my Media Library.

When I Clicked insert image, and choose the media library its shows.

Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/home/myraffa/public_html/blog/files/uploads/2006/07/lainya2.thumbnail.jpg) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/myraffae:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp) in /home/myraffae/public_html/blog/wp-includes/post.php on line 2432

When I tried to put the the media to the editor its shows the path was error.

For example, media library give the links like this:

    https://www.myraffaell.com/blog/files/uploads/2006/07/2.jpg

and the correct one should be like this:

    https://www.myraffaell.com/blog/wp-content/files/uploads/2006/07/2.jpg

My Configuration for file upload located in:
    wp-content/files

But its seems its not works.
    Even I follow this tutorial:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/164999?replies=1

I’ve never changed my configuration since wp ver 2.3 now having trouble with 2.6

Any advice with regards about this issue much be appreciated.

    Hi Otto,

    Thanks for the answer,

I’ve tried to put /public_html/blog/wp-content/files at field: Full URL path to files (optional) in Miscellaneous Settings still no luck.

I also had change to https://myraffaell.com/blog/wp-content/files still failed.

And i already changed the functions.php files to wp-includes.

Maybe my understanding was wrong ?
Or is there anything else ?

    Thanks,

Full URL path would be the full “http” path to the files.

Also, it only will take effect on files you upload after you make the change. Stuff you uploaded before will have to be deleted and reuploaded.

    Wow,

This is strange, now im scare….

Just now I check on the database it self, on the wp_postmeta I found the links was not correct and how can this possibly happen ?
    (See image below)
    https://img231.imageshack.us/img231/7012/22072008160mi5.png

Then I tried to edit it one by one, then refresh back the page and re open the media library, the result is still the same.

Then, I tried to move my files folder to the proper one ( as shown in the error ) at /home/myraffa/public_html/blog/files

    Now all the thumbnail show…
but the problem now, the error still shows up.

Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/home/myraffa/public_html/blog/files/uploads/2006/07/lainya2.thumbnail.jpg) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/myraffae:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp) in /home/myraffae/public_html/blog/wp-includes/post.php on line 2432

Err…. how to get rid of it…

    Thanks,
