upgrade 2.8 t0 2.8.1 leaves message to upgrade

I tried upgrading to 2.8.1 today – seems to work?

after uploading all the files i log in ok (no message about a database upgrade or anything) and the info on dashboard says i am using wordpress 2.8.1 but the status at top still has the “WordPress 2.8.1 is available” message telling me to upgrade.
