Upgrade 2.8.3 cannot make changes to pages

  • I just upgraded to 2.8.3, prior to upgrade all working well.

    Now if I edit a page, add an image to an existing page, because the changes do not show up. If I add a page that page is created, it can be seen in preview, but is not visible when you go to the web site, the link to the new page is there but nothing happens when you click on it.

    I ran an experiment, going to another of my WordPress blogs and NOT upgrading it and adding the identical images and pages and edits I attempted on the upgraded one and it went without a hitch.

    I also tried deactivating firewall (post upgrade). I really hate all these upgrades because most of them have caused major problems. I understand this is progress and that this particular upgrade was for security issues, which is great, but now I can’t use my darn blog.

    please tell me someone else has this issue and that there is a fix.

  • did you regenerate permalinks after upgrading?
    admin – settings – permalinks

    No, I didn’t ‘regenerate’ anything. But it is not JUST that I can’t link to a newly created page, it’s also that if I add an image to an EXISTING PAGE that image does not show up, if I edit a page with text, that text does not show up. so the page is called correctly in that case, just no changes possible. I’m sick.

    so did you try regenerating the permalinks yet?

    yes, I actually did with no changes in any of the odd behavior of the blog.

    have you tried deactivating plugins to see if there is a conflict?
