• I attempted to update within WordPress a couple of weeks ago and it appears to have hung and broken the site.

I have been readings and have tried the following:

Replacing the wp-admin and wp-includes files
Changing plugins to plugins.hold and still get the same error message.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_post_format_slugs() in /home/sese1690/public_html/foxcounselling.com.au/wp-includes/theme.php on line 1264

I currently have my website re-directed to another website but need to get this issue fixed asap.

    Any help appreciated.

    Chris

  • Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and the wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php
