    Same idea as this thread:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/update-problem-352-now-i-am-unable-to-log-in-post-or-access-the-back-end

I manage multiple websites and this one that I’m currently working on is the only one who prompted me to upgrade my database.

    Database Update Required
WordPress has been updated! Before we send you on your way, we have to update your database to the newest version.
The update process may take a little while, so please be patient.
    BUTTON: Update WordPress Database

Click on the button and it brings me to the next screen:
    url suffix: …./wp-admin/upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2F

With only a WP logo showing. Nothing else. Browser isn’t moving or doing anything. Tried Chrome, Firefox, and Safari to see if it was a browser issue. Apparently, it is not.

So… now I can’t access my back-end admin panel, but the site is working and live currently. Help?

Please note that my site is not marked as malicious and I DO have an upgrade.php file in my installation.

  • Have you tried repairing all of your database tables? Your hosts should be able to assist you with this.

Hi guys, it has been awhile, but in the mean time, version 3.6 came out.

I did deactivate plugins, switch to 2012 theme (from version 3.5.1 b/c I was unable to update to 3.5.2), and run the upgrade with no problems. Database error didn’t occur this time around.

My host also mentioned that he changed the permissions on the wp-config.php file previously from being more restrictive (400 I believe?) back to the normal permissions, so we won’t ever know if that was the issue at hand or if it was just version 3.5.2 upgrade. Most likely, it was the upgrade itself.

So with all that said, my problem was fixed with the new upgrade!
