Upgrade drastically changes site

  • Hello–
    I suspect I have a very old version of this theme – Appearances/Theme does not say what version it is, and says the author is Anonymous.
    When I try to update to the current version, all background styling is replaced with generic blues and white, home page widgets do not display, etc. I’ve had to restore the site for it to function.

    Strange that a theme called “responsive” is not responsive, in the Ethan Marcotte sense.
    Please advise.
