• I followed all of the upgrade instructions, and I have upgraded before in the past with no problems, but now I keep getting this error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare validate_current_theme() (previously declared in /home/content/t/e/c/techtweaker/html/wp-includes/theme.php:417) in /home/content/t/e/c/techtweaker/html/wp-admin/admin-functions.php on line 1161

Do I need to change the theme? What is the easiest way to do this? When I attempt to change the theme it takes me to my upgrade page. I may just load all my old files to the ftp and go back to the old version 2.07.

I still have 2.05 version of wordpress do I need to upgrade to 2.07 and then to 2.1?

you have files from both versions doing things.

    You need to :

    1. delete all the files inside wp-includes/
    2. delete all the files inside wp-admin/

Not the files inside subdirectories, not the subdirectories themselves, JUST files.

then upload fresh copies of 2.1 files.

see my longer explanation of why in my last post in this thread:

and to answer that question, no you do not. You just need to delete the OLD files before you upload the NEW ones.

Thanks alot! I remember doing this on the last upgrade. I guess I was having a brain cramp.

I gotta remember files and not entire folders.
