• When I try to upgrade to 2.7.1 I get this error message. I deleted the old automatic upgrade plugin as was recommended in the sticky at the top of this forum and I still have the same error message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 1853087 bytes) in /home/trac7032/public_html/leadingfromtheheart.org/wp-includes/http.php on line 1032

Anyone know how to fix this?

    Thanks!
    Tracy

Thank you but I already have 32M of php memory. Apparently the script is asking for more!

wow – well some servers are set up differently
another person had to bump his to 64M to work

When I try to run the automatic update (I freshly installed the auto-upgrade plugin first) I got the message: You do not have permission to upgrade plugins (or words to that effect). Of course I do! I just upgraded Stats – and that using API !!! give me a break .

This was by using both the Dashboard link and the Upgrade link in Tools.

That was the latest version of wordpress-automatic-upgrade that I used. Do we now have to Upgrade WITHOUT having the Upgrade Plugin installed? (I saw the comment at start of this thread but didn’t so far see a sticky about it)

I have NEVER had a satisfactory automatic upgrade – EVER! ggrrr

    Corrected message:
You do not have sufficient permissions to update plugins for this blog.

I deleted the automatic-upgrade folder and contents – still get the same error message.

You think I should go in and deactivate all the plugins? I don’t have many, about 4 or 5

Tried deactivated Plugins – no effect.

I have all the access [admin] and I can do all the other updates and I know the passwords etc for running Stats and the like.

Just the 2.7.1 Upgrade says I do not have sufficient permissions to update plugins for this blog. (I update them all the time!)

I see one source of that message is in:
    /admin/plugin-install.php

But I have admin rights and it should run.

*sigh* It’s in all three: plugins, plugin-install and plugin-editor

    ggrrr
