Upgrade from 1.2 – I’m Down

  • Hi, I went by the upgrade instructions (official) to upgrade to 1.52. All pages are blank and I’m wondering if could be .htaccess related. The original 1.2 .htaccess is being used with rewrite on. I ran the upgrade.php and got the “have fun” message. I was using one plugin, CG-Feedread; when deactivated, the same results appeared. Anyone have an idea what I might need to do? Thanks.

  • Check your themes – if you can, switch to the default.

    When I go to themes, I see this:

    “The active theme is WordPress Default. The template files are located in . The stylesheet files are located in .”

    If I click on Theme Editor, I get:

    “The requested theme does not exist.”

    Any idea what that might mean?

    It’s broken.

    Can you see another theme to change to ?
    Upload a theme and see if you can change ?

    Your .htaccess will need updating too at some point.

    Themes are working now! Can you point me in the right direction for updating .htaccess? Thanks a bunch.

    Nevermind. I made .htaccess writable and updated via permalinks.
