Hello,

I’m in the same boat. I’m currently on 2.6.2 and I’m not really wordpress literate even though I know wordpress is fairly straight forward. Are there people who do this on a paid basis? I just feel a bit overwhelmed. My goal is to eventually use a new wordpress template and I just want to be sure that when I change the template my content remains. Thank you for any help you can offer.

Thanks WPyogi – worked like a charm. I upgraded two major releases at a time (to 2.7, then 2.9, then 3.1, then 3.3, 3.5, finally 3.7) and everything went smoothly.

@sethshimkonis – I know you are supposed to open a new topic but just wanted to comment and say yes, there are people you can hire to do this for you. I was undertaking this project on a paid basis (but unfortunately am totally swamped right now). If you just look around for a WordPress designer, they can probably help you out.
