    hello,

I need to do the maintenance of a website with woocommerce, ithemes security, wpcahe, wordfence, etc.

Ready Simple SSL is on versio 3.2.7
    Actual version is 5.1.2

What about an “simple” upgrade using the wp interface?
Do you think it is dangerous?

Or should I back up the 3.2.7 version via FTP, install the 5.1.2 also via FTP?

Should I have some troubles with ithemes security or wordfence?

    tks !

    Hi @aspro92140,

updating should work, although there can always be some unexpected issues when skipping a lot of versions. You can always create a backup first to be on the safe side and then do an update via the WordPress update afterwards. I don’t expect any issues with security plugins.

Hello @markwolters , thank you for your contribution.

Maybe I can upgrade from 3.2.7 to (for example) 4.1 then 4.6 then 5.1.2, it should be safer?

I assume that I can find old versions in the plugin option, in WP console?

    With obviously some backups.

    Your opinion?

And to be sure, when you say “I don’t expect any issues with security plugins. “, does it means :
1/ you think everything is gonna to be ok
2/ you do not know and just roll a dice ??
3/ you think it is risky ??

    thank you so much ??

    tks !

    Hi @aspro92140,

you can update to the latest version directly as the plugin contains upgrade code for older version, changes made in between these version will automatically be fixed.

In regards to security plugins, I think everything will be ok. I don’t see why a security plugin would have an issue with updating the plugin.

Hi @markwolters , thank you, I’ll do it.
I’ll tell you when it is ok (couple of days)
