Upgrade from WC 5.6.0 to 7.6 to use WooPayments 6.2.0

    Hi, I’ve inherited a site that is running WooCommerce 5.6.0 and need to install WooPayments, which requires at least WooCommerce 7.6. I’m concerned about potential conflicts that such an update might cause.

    Also, products from the site are also sold on ebay using the PayPal for WooCommerce plugin

    As it’s quite a jump from 5.6 to 7.6, does anyone know of anything that is a major change or might “break” something? Should I do each version update individually?

    Any advice is welcome!

    It’s important to note that we always recommend keeping your WooCommerce plugin up-to-date, and the one current running on your site [5.6.0] is extremally outdated.

    Updating WooCommerce core to its latest version, which is currently [7.9.0] , ensures optimal functionality of your site, and also ensures that you have the latest features and improvements.

    Also, most plugins that rely on WooCommerce core, generally update to ensure that they function as expected with the latest version of WooCommerce.

    WooCommerce 7.9.0 has introduced a number of improvements and bug fixes. However, it’s difficult to predict whether any of these changes may conflict with your current setup.

    The best way to find out is to test the update in a staging environment. This is a clone of your live site where you can test updates and changes without affecting your live site. This can be done using the free?WP Staging?plugin.
