Upgrade from wordpress 3.5.1

  • Hi,

    I need to upgrade the wordpress version. Now it’s 3.5.1. However I am not sure how to proceed as I am aware that I might have problems with the php version, the theme which is old and has no updates. Would appreciate any knowledge about what steps to take.

  • you might want to set up a separate local installation first and test your theme with the upgraded WordPress version on that separate WordPress installation.

    The latest WP 5.9 has the following requirements:
    System Requirements

    PHP version 5.6.20 or greater.
    MySQL version 5.0 or greater.

    Recommendations

    PHP version 7.4 or greater.
    MySQL version 5.7 or greater OR MariaDB version 10.2 or greater.
    The mod_rewrite Apache module.
    HTTPS support.
    A link to www.ads-software.com on your site.

    If it does not work, then look for another theme.
