Upgrade plugin via FTP error

  • Recently I’ve been working on my client’s new WordPress install. When I started, I first tried to upgrade the Akismet plugin and found that I can only use FTP methods.

    Unfortunately, upgrade via the PHP FTP Extensions transport seem to take forever to load. I tried FTP Sockets instead, but got this error:

    Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/example/domains/example.com/public_html/wp/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-filesystem-ftpsockets.php on line 299

    Does anyone have any idea what these problems mean?
