Upgrade Process Sucks

I just wanted to voice my dismay at the upgrade process for WordPress.

It’s ridiculous to have to download ALL the files for WordPress and upload them to the server, and overwrite ALL the files on the server–EXCEPT for a few critical files, if you overwrite those you are screwed–to do a minor version upgrade for a (all-too-frequent) security update.

I’ve been using WordPress for 3 months now and have had to upgrade TWICE.

Why can’t WordPress upgrade automatically? Or, why can’t you specify EXACTLY which files were changed so I can just copy only those files which have been updated to the server instead of ALL the files?

I won’t even voice my dissatisfaction with how frequently I have to upgrade: 4 times a year, at this rate.
