  • I’m having the same problem. The site is currently at v3.0.7 when I attempt to upgrade to version 3.0.96 we receive the error message “Fatal error Cannot proceed with installation, please upgrade to the version 3.0.96 from here first before upgrading to this version.” The wordpress software has been upgraded from a version 2.8 to v4.31

You need to upgrade to the version mentioned in the message before upgrading to version 5+. Older versions of the plugin can be downloaded from here:

    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/events-manager/developers/

When I upgrade t version 3.0.96 I get a fatal error and the message “Cannot proceed with installation, please upgrade to the version 3.0.96 from here first before upgrading to this version.”” So how do I upgrade to that version when I receive a FATAL error message during the upgrade?

    Hey, thanks,
I’m running into problems and keep being sent back and forth between old versions. So, since we had only a couple of events I decided to remove the plugin and install the latest version. However, I still get the message.

I have no problem with sql-ing to remove any traces and have a clean start, just let me know what to do.

    Cheers,

@korneelwever The easiest way to completely restart would be to deactivate the plugin, remove all tables in the database with a wp_em_* prefix, then reactivate the plugin. This will remove all Events Manager plugin data.

@linked Local Network What version are you upgrading from?

    Hey,

Got it, i accidentally skipped uninstall, went-> deactivate->remove. Looked ad your code and saw the version check and uninstall option.
Used uninstall then it worked. Thanks!

So in other words the only way to upgrade is to delete all of the old events and settings and then recreate everything again? Please advise. I need to explain to the client why her old history of events will need to be destroyed. The process you describe is not an upgrade because upgrades keep the old data and migrate to the new version.

No, that was my answer to @korneelwever.

    Please answer my earlier question:
