• Friends,

I did upgrade in a strange way…i dont know if i did it correctly.

    I backedup all the data
then i copied over the new version over the old one except for the index and config file.
later i tried to log in and everything worked fine.
i check for the verion of wp and it shows 2.0.2
so did i do it correctly? or I goofedup ?

  • With the download, came a “readme.html” — did you?

But hey, if all works… ?? Might run the wp-admin/upgrade.php though just to be safe. Not sure if does anything for the 2.0.1 to 2.0.2 upgrade…

I *think* I remember reading that running upgrade wasn’t necessary…. though I certainly am frequently wrong.

I am curious about this as well. I would like to upgrade WP from 2.0 to 2.0.2. I did not see a read me file. What is the best way to upgrade without losing info? Thank you to anyone that can help out. Be gentle, I am new to this.

Thanks and sorry. I found another thread about this.

childrensfitness: try the detailed exposition here: https://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/upgrade2two/ – this would have relevance to a same-version incremental as well I believe.

When upgrading from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2 it is okay to run upgrade.php, though it is not necessary.

I’ve followed all the instructions to upgrade from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2 and something is FUBAR. I get a bunch of errors on the screen… PHP errors. How important is it to upgrade? I’m debating to ignore the upgrade, since it appears to work fine as is. They say it is a security upgrade, what issues are there?
