Upgrade to 2.6.1: Database error

I updated my wordpress to 2.6.1
I downloaded it , i replaced the files in my drive then i uploaded it.
the wp-config.php was not modified but.
when i visit my updated WP it returns…Error establishing a database connection
and really dont understand what’s the problem.
