    Tried to upgrade to the latest version of the plug-in and received this error message: An error occurred while updating Akismet Anti-Spam: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.

    What does this mean?

    This is an issue unrelated to Akismet itself. You’ll need to contact your Web host for help on resetting your file permissions so that the plugin can update.
