• I upgraded to 3.01, and my multisite capabilities disappeared. “Network” is no longer in the side panel and the register button is gone from the front of the site. The site admin panel is also missing. I tried reinstalling the Define(‘WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE’, true); in the wp-config.php file, but nothing happens. I have disabled or deleted all plugins.

I wiped the site, reinstalled, put the code in the wp-config.php. No “network” button.

Where in the config file did you put it?

I put it right above the “no more editing” line.

The folks at Hostgator got the network installed for me. Said they had to add some lines of code. I have another problem now – will start a new topic. Thanks

this does not sound promising, as setting up the network does not involve merely pasting line sin the config file.

You need to do that to start, put if they put in the whole section of commands the network gives you…. they did it wrong. There’s setup that has to be done in the admin area of WordPress for the extra tables to be created.

I’m not having any problems. Is there somewhere I can look, or something I should look for?

I really don’t know why it didn’t give me the network button when I put the code in originally. I’ve never had a problem with that before. It usually sets up just as smooth as silk. So I figured it had something to do with hostgator.
