• I just tried upgrading my blog to WordPress 3.4, which failed and I got a bunch of errors.
Now I tried restoring the backup I was able to automtically make before going through with the upgrade.

This backup however won’t work, then I get the following message:

Restoring Backup: Error: extraction failure: unable to extract /usr/home/deb23751/application_backups/c13e156c0b984e13a8f4162aced606b1.tar.gz' to/usr/home/deb23751/domains/vivaglamx3.be/public_html’ (`265121792′): Directory /usr/home/deb23751/domains/vivaglamx3.be/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2009 already exists as a file

None of my picutes show on my blog and linkwithin won’t work properly either.

Can somebody please help, I’m pretty frustrated since this has been going on the entire day. You can see the problem on my blog here: https://www.vivaglamx3.be/

I’ve already tried deactivating the plugins and all that, but it won’t work..

Thanks so much if you’re able to help!

  • Within FTP, inside contents, look for uploads. Then you will find there images uploaded month-wise. See if there is a folder named June.

    I see 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. When i open 2012 there’s nothing in there?

oww think I just found it, was just named with “6”.. what do i do next?

I think that makes the photo not to appear. If it is year-wise, Braun juicer image should be within 2012.
Can you click on 2012 and see if it opens (if it is a folder)?

Oh No. It is not to be renamed. Click on it and see if it contains the image DSC_0007-1024×588.jpg

if i click (it is a folder) 2012 there’s just one line, which is named 06 and has a blank page icon in front of it. It also says there’s O file size

Can you understand which picture I am referring to? DSC_0007-1024×588.jpg is the photo of Braun juicer. You are sure it is not there? If so, let us go back to 2011. See if anything can be found there?

I find this picture in the map of “6” which is part of a backupfolder of 2012

Right. Like this can you check if the other photos are there? If the picture does not appear, it means it IS NOT there where it should be. If all the photos are in the backup folder, you just have to copy them to its place. I hope you understand.

    (@laura-a)

Yeah there’s a whole range of pics in that same folder. Do you know where I have to copy them to? What is its place exactly?

Yes. Now there is nothing to worry about. You do not have to do all the procedures again. I just was checking up.

Now let us do a test. Can you just copy the image of the juicer to the folder for 2012/6? Just try that. You will find a tab for copy there in your FTP folder. From there, copy and place within 2012/6. Try it.

Well problem is I have a folder “2012”, which only contains the “6” with the blank paper in front of it, so nothing I can open or place anything into..

The second folder I have is a 2012 backup, which contains a real folder”6″ that I can open and where the picture we’re talking about is..

So there’s no other existing 2012/6 folder, is that a problem?

See, like you have pictures monthwise and yearwise in the back up, they have to be in the same order where you find it blank. Now you may also try this. Just rename the uploads folder and copy and paste the entire folder from the back up. The other way around is download the entire thing and upload back to the active upload folder(s).

    (@laura-a)

I understand. Does it matter what you rename the upload folder to (this is the one which contains all the folders including the back up ones, right?)

And just to know for myself, what does changing the name of a particular folder do?
And do you have to change the name back to the original name afterwards or just leave it changed?

Thanks so much for your tim and patience, really appreciate it!

I am even not able to update wordpress!!
