Upgrade to GA-4 was a nightmare

  • Site Kit is fine. But the upgrade to GA-4 was unnecessarily complicated and riddled with bugs. Ended up using Jeff Starr’s GA Google Analytics plugin to get it all sorted. One star off for that. Google really needs to do better, not everyone is a professional web developer.

If you’re willing to give the plugin another try, please let me know what error you run into, or share more details on what you encountered when trying to switch to GA4 within Site Kit and we’d be happy to assist. Note also that for many errors, we have guides added to the plugin website.
