• After upgrading from 2.1.2 to 2.2.1 I find that the widgets no longer work, I cannot activate the widgets in the plugins menu (“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error”) and none of the new widgets appear on the weblog even though they’re there on the Widgets screen.

I’m using the Tiga 1.02 theme. Could this theme be incompatible with version 2.2.x and how can I check this?

My widgets won’t register. I can move them in and out of the sidebars and save the options, but the weblog only shows the default widgets.

    Can anyone help?

    Upgrades are a PAIN!
I have the same problem, using either Tigopedia 1.0 and Tigopedia Reloaded.

Gave up and switched to another theme, since no recent upgrades or other comments made to the author’s Sizlopedia site regarding this issue.

It’s a pain to also hunt for new themes that you might like and that are not overloaded with pre-set ads.

In 2.2.1 what used to be the widgets plugin it is built-in. Maybe you need to deactivate the old widgets plugin?

Actually I’ve found the answer. The Tiga theme does not support WordPress 2.2.x

The answer is that someone has updated the problem sidebar.php so that the widgets work properly again.

See https://wordpress.pastebin.ca/523651 and thanks to Otto for creating it.
