Hello: This morning, after you released version 4.3 of Yoast SEO I saw that it was available for Upgrade and I tried to upgrade to v. 4.3. The upgrade failed. Now, I cannot do a “New” Install of Yoast SEO v.4.3. When I try to Install Yoast SEO v.4.3 I receive this message: “Installation failed. Destination folder already exists”

Question: What folder do I need to delete and where is that located?

I’m a WordPress Newbie and a Yoast SEO Newbie and appreciate your time and your help! TIA!.

Follow On: I found the wordpress-seo folder under wp-content under plugins. I deleted that folder and then I was able to do a clean/fresh install of Yoast SEO v.4.3 and activate the plugin.

  • I had to do the same thing. Thanks.

For anyone else who has the problem you need to look for the wordpress-seo folder in plugins and delete it via ftp.
