I can’t help it, I’m just that awesome.. lol! Nah, just kidding lmao.. =p

Just wondering why these announcements don’t come via the Announcement List at the bottom of the page? I have never had an email sent from it.

    sure would like a changelog.

    I have wordpress version 2.0.2

My question is that can I directly upgrade from 2.0.2 to 2.0.4 following the upgrade instructions for 2.0.4? OR do I have to go through 2.0.2->2.0.3->2.0.4?

    Ryan,
    nm. thanks!

I know that during a “normal” upgrade of the WordPress versions, the people are usually told *not* to upload the wp-content directory…

But, since the Default 1.5 theme has been “fixed” and the version is now changed to 1.6..

I think those that are currently running an “Unmolested” version of the Default theme, should also upgrade that theme, as well. ?? But, atleast those that are new users of WordPress will have the “fixed” version of the Default.. ??

Just throwing in my 2 cents of course..

Everyone really should upgrade their Default theme though, since all those display problems, such as the 1px footer/header shift is now gone in this new Default 1.6 theme. =)

Well, I’m not running any of the default theme, in fact, they’ve been trashed entirely.

But I just upgraded from 2.0.3 to 2.0.4. I did molest some of the core files (thanks spence, love the expression). So, Winmerge to the rescue, compared files, did a few changes, and uploaded the files… Everything seems happy. Keeping fingers crossed.

Cheers to the team for the security fixes.

bdsays: you can update directly to 2.0.4. As far as I know, the upgrade works with all version from 1.5.x and up (in case someone else wonders). ??

Many more props goes to Jeremy Visser again, for updating the Codex, for Upgrading from 2.0.3 to 2.0.4. =) Adding in there, about the Default theme being “fixed” now.

(Not *only* has the 1px header/footer shift been fixed, but a few other display problems for other stuff as well)

Haha.. no problem. Just an old expression I had been using way back in the day, when making phpBB themes lol!

    Thanks newflesh ??

I’ll dive in to the upgrade process right away ??

But remember though, if you’re NOT experienced in the “theme editing” field, and you’re NOT SURE of what you’re doing.. Don’t mess with the Default theme! Especially if you have TONS of Plugins running on it..

Only upgrade the default theme, if you *don’t have PLUGINS* on it.. and such. Basically just those using a Plain Jane version..

Also! Since the CSS file has been changed…you can’t just upload the new Default theme files, over the original ones, you’re better off selecting another theme first, then delete the old original files, then upload the new Default theme files..inreplace of the old ones..

Upgrading from 2.0.3, I didn’t get a confirmation to ugprade the database. Am I all set? Things look fine to me…

    Thanks!
