• I inherited a site I was not familiar with, saw that the plugin needed an upgrade so went ahead and upgraded.

But now there are no authors displaying on the testimonials page on the user side.

I went in to the admin side, and on the “Edit Testimonials” Page I see a table of all testimonials

There are about 20 testimonials and they have data for the fields ID, Order, Appr, Timestamp, Testimonial

None of them are showing data in the fields Group, Author, E-mail, Location, Website

Can we do anything to recover and display this?

Here is the user view, I added the one author name, Test 1
    https://improvconsultants.com/?page_id=10

    Thanks!
    Abigail

    Hi Abigail

Updating Testimonial Basics should not have caused this kind of problem.
Were there any revisions made to the code? What version were you upgrading from?

You could take a look at the database in phpmyadmin, and see what is going on. I would look to see if the author database entry name has somehow been changed. The name of the author entry is ‘tb_name’.

When a testimonial is approved there is an email sent to the admin that lists the author name. If you had access to those emails you can recover the name.

Were backups of the database made? If so you can send me the database, and I could try to recover the names. You can send me your email through kevinsspace.ca/contact.
