    Just upgraded to the new Theme version.

    Other than on my Home page, all Pages are ignoring the image text alignment setting (thumbnail, align left), and my text is appearing below the image instead of next to. The Visual edit window shows the appearance to be correct, and the HTML is also correct.

    Any suggestions on repairing the wrap?

    Thx, Ned

  • Similar error like you for me also

    Have you tried overriding wide margins? Go to the ‘Page Attributes’ box and under ‘Template’ select Full Width Page.

    The margins are a new feature to make text more readable. You can add them selectively with the [margin] shortcode.

    Hi Notlaura:

    I changed the attribute as you suggested, but there was no change.

    This is on my localhost, so I wish I could share. The weird part is the page that I have designated as Home is fine, but all other pages are adversely affected.

    Thx, Ned

    The margins are by default on pages and not on Home or posts pages. I can’t replicate the issue – the text wrap works for me with and without margins. Try reinstalling WPFolio and see if the problem persists.

    @manoj9664 – can you post your site’s URL?

    also can you better define “text wrap” or maybe share a screenshot?

    Hi:

    The site in my local testing, but I could put it up tonight if needed…

    On this particular page, a comment box is included, only on this page, and comments are turned off at this time, so this is a second oddity.

    On all pages, except Home and the Blog, wherever an image is placed, the subsequent text drops below the image instead of being alongside the image as desired. The page setting is for “wide margin”.

    Worked fine before the update, and I reloaded wpfolio from a download after the same issue occurred with the WP update, per the suggestion above.

    Thx, Ned

    How do I include a screenshot here?

    Here’s the code if it helps:
    <div id=”content”>

    <div class=” STATEMENT”>

    <h2 class=”pagetitle”>

    STATEMENT</h2>

    <div class=”fullwidthpage”><!– conditional class added to Full Width Pages –>

    <p><img src=”https://www.katherinegreenefineart.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/IMG_3814-copy.jpg&#8221; alt=”photo of artist Katherine Greene” title=”Katherine Greene” width=”227″ height=”190″ class=”alignleft size-full wp-image-344″ /></p>
    <h3>Artist Statement</h3>
    <p>My work is an exploration and discovery process – a journey without a map. I rely on my intuition to guide me while being open to the unpredictable. Once I apply the first layer of paint “something” takes over and the process can’t be stopped. As I continue to layer and overlap the paint colors, with repeated building up an rubbing off, a new color is created an often shifts the direction of the painting. I want my paintings to introduce others to the energy, or spirit, beyond the surface world we live in, to experience the harmony of color, line, texture, pattern and composition, and to enjoy the ride!</p>

    </div><!– .conditional class –>

    <div class=”post-bottom-title”> Comments (0) </div><!– .post-bottom-title –>

    <div class=”widemargins”>

    Actually I misspoke a little.

    The Page setting is set to “wide layout” not wide margin.

    Here is what the page should look like, the link is live to the existing 1.5 version of WPFolio, not my Localhost, which is where I am having the problem.

    Thx, Ned

    Here is the live link for the “working” 1.5 version:

    how wide is your image?

    you can post a screenshot online anywhere and link to it.

    This is the smallest image at 227 px wide. Others are wider.

    The local page in 1.72 is a duplicate of this one, only on my localhost. This is the live version in 1.5 — https://www.katherinegreenefineart.com/?page_id=2

    I am not at my regular computer at this time…I can’t do an attachment on this forum post, yes?

    Tonight I will load the whole thing in a side directory of my website so you can see…

    Hi:

    Here is a site you can link to — it’s version 1.72
    https://www.curlytopdesign.com/testing/kgreene

    As you can see, on the Pages, it is set to “full width”, and the text, which should start alongside the image, starts below the image (for example):
    https://www.curlytopdesign.com/testing/kgreene/?page_id=2
    Also, comments are Closed, but there is a Leave a Reply dialog box present. This is the only page where this happens.

    The Home page wraps correctly.

    Here is a link to the Live site, version 1.5.2.1, which is the way I want it to look. https://www.katherinegreenefineart.com/?page_id=2

    Can you help please?

    Thx, Ned

    FYI, I researched the workaround for the Comment issue, so not longer a problem.

    BTW, I made a new page and had the same text wrapping problem. Any advice is appreciated.

    Ok, figured out your problem. In the 1.72 version, you have your image before the ‘Artist Statement’ h3 text. Header text now requires its own line, so it keeps the image above the text rather than being positioned beside it. If you take out the h3, should work fine.

    P.S. As you are using WPFolio for paid work, maybe you would consider donating to the project? It’s free and run by unpaid volunteers. Check the bottom of this page. Thanks ??

    Hi notlaura:

    Thanks for the tip. How about in THIS instance? Should I be using something other than <h> tags to delineate sections of text?

    Also, the contact form seems to be getting in the way here:
    https://www.curlytopdesign.com/testing/kgreene/?page_id=113

    I was successfully making changes on the other “problem” pages, so I really appreciate your help, and will be happy to make a donation.

    Thx, Ned

    Hi:

    I corrected this one: https://www.curlytopdesign.com/testing/kgreene/?page_id=108

    But the Contact Form still drops down here, and I tried (unsuccessfully) all sorts of insert locations for the image to get it to work:

    Thx, Ned
