    Hello,

I had an issue which I’m not sure I should be concerned with or not.

I initially installed WP on my server using Fantastico. At the time, I has installed version 2.8.

Since that time, WP has released updates up to 2.8.4, which I have currently installed. These updates have been installed using the auto update through WP, i.e. I have not used Fantastico to update since the initial install.

Today, I was checking and Fantastico says there is a new version 2.8.4 and that my current install is 2.8. So for some reason, Fantastcio has not picked up on the fact that I am running 2.8.4. In my WP admin panel, it shows that I am current with 2.8.4.

My Blog is working fine and there are no problems. Should I be concerned with the fact that Fantastico is not recognizing that I have the latest version installed? Is there any way to correct this so that Fantastico will show that I have the latest version installed?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

  • fantastico doesnt have a clue what youve done. it uses its own system of keeping track of the version you installed, and whether or not you need to upgrade.

In other words, ignore it, and/or delete the various files it created when you did the initial install. I am NOT talking about deleting wordpress files, Im talking about looking inside the /.fantasticodata/ directory, and possibly deleting the relevant stuff inside there.

Huhu i broke my site, im trying to update then suddenly icant reverse back. Too sad

    whooami,

thanks very much for clearing that up for me. i somewhat figured it wasn’t a real issue, but still had doubt. i haven’t yet looked into the fantastico directory you referenced, but will do so when i get a moment.

    thanks again!
