Upgraded to 3.1 Now I can't Insert Images

    When I click on “Insert Image” nothing happens!
    I can right click on it and open it in a new tab, but that doesn’t work either……when I choose the image and upload it, the page goes blank when I click “Insert” and when I go back to the page I’m editing……no image.

    I’m seeing a LOT of 3.1 problems in this forum…..why did WP release an upgrade that obviously wasn’t ready to be released?

    OK…..I had to change the permission of my .htaccess file…….I’m all good now ??

    Well I have exactly the same problem and dont’t see any issues with .htaccess permissions. Have cleared my cache, logged back into WordPress and the Upload / Insert buttons are not working after upgrading to 3.1.

    I use WP Security Scan, try it, it might show you where your problem is.

    It told me I had to change the file permissions to my .htaccess file and my root directory (although I can never change my root…..it always changes back) and that seems to have done the job.

    Maybe just me going in with Filezilla and messing around gave the new WP install a kick in the pants to get going…….I don’t know, but it’s working now.

    Thanks, it was a plugin. Deactivated and could insert images again.

    i am having the same problem. I upgraded to 3.1 and now when i try to upload an image, it doesn’t show up after loading. it loads in the lightbox but the thumbnail then doesn’t show in the lightbox after it has uploaded. The images also are not showing up on my site. any ideas? greatly appreciated!

    emptied the cashe on 3 browsers, rebooted the computer, created an htaccess file in wp-admin with:

    # BEGIN WordPress
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
# END WordPress

    and still nothing works. Like everyone else I’m running 3.1 too.

    Similarly, I have no edit image dialogue box as a result of upgrading to 3.1.

    I downloaded the WP Security Scan plugin and it tells me, “The file .htaccess does not exist in wp-admin/”.

    3 cheers for anyone who will answer these two questions:

    How do I create this .htaccess file in my wp-admin subdirectory and what do I change the file permissions to?
