• I upgraded to 3.2 from the last latest version and now when making a post / page the visual tab has NO controls. The visual tab still exists and the HTML still has the usual controls in the toolbar, but the Visual tab just simply has no toolbar .. nada.

Tried a few fixes for this and nothing is working.

Cleared browser cache and restarted / refreshed .. no dice.
    deactivated all plugins… no dice.
Switched to default 2011 theme – no dice.

Any suggestions? Not a problem for me to edit in HTML view, but HUGE problem for the blog’s other users.

and yes, my host meets the minimal requirements

Well, small update, but still not fixed.

I downloaded a full copy of WordPress 3.2 and compare the wp-config.php file on the live site and the fresh copy of WordPress. Completely, totally different.

So, I manually updated the fresh copy with my db info, etc and uploaded it to the live site.

NOW, I at least have a tool bar on the visual tab and the TINYMCE buttons show up fine. However, the default visual tab toolbar buttons are there but completely blank.

So, LOL… yeah I guess part of my problem is solved. Might just wipe out my live site and do a complete manual re install with the fresh WP download. *scratches head* Just what I needed tonight.

i have same problem with you , … so sad , Dont know when WP fix this ??

Well for anyone else interested, this may be a godaddy issue (I know, I know). Thy’re not yet supporting 3.2, apparently, and when I called they told me that they don’t know when they will be because it’s still in beta, I had to inform them otherwise.

I am having the same problem. I am using Joyent as a host and they are using PHP Version 5.2.12.

Does this mean I will have to go back to using 3.1.4 of WordPress? Unless Joyent updates?

PHP 5.2.12 is higher than 5.2.4, so there’s no problems with that.

Thanks esmi. I was reading 5.2.1.2 and not 5.2.12. Too many dots to keep track of.

    So. Any ideas? Anyone?

The Visual Editor for WP 3.2 is working on my local dev site with PHP 5.2.9 and mysql 5.0.77 but not on the remote site. Mysterious.

This is kind of problem and I hope there is a resolution to it soon.
    Thanks.

GoDaddy’s OFFICIAL PHP version for Linux is 5.2.14 (per their webpage and the phone convo I had). That doesn’t mean YOUR server has been upgraded, though.

    Can you take a screenshot?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Hi – I’m having the same problem plus I get white text in the post window. I’ve posted some visuals here – https://goo.gl/EtGFw

I’ve deactivated all plugs and re-installed from scratch about 4 times and gone back to 2010.

I noticed this when looking at my host (123-reg) – https://goo.gl/bC5Gs – is this important?

Please help as it’s really driving me mad.

P.S. – I can tinker but I’m not that technical so please treat me as stupid!

    – just to add. I’m using Chrome 13.0.782.41 beta on OSX 10.5.8 but I get the same problems with Safari and Firefox.

timchorlton, that’s exactly how mine looked before replacing the config file with one from a fresh 3.2 download.

Not that it has 100% solved my problem.

I have turned off all my plugins and the problem remains. I only have a few plugins by very reputable plugin developers. I doubt this is a plugin problem. My intuition tells me it is a 3.2 issue.

Hopefully some WP developers are following this issue.

And by the way I really like 3.2, the new admin screens, etc. And now if this is a bug I know it will be fixed. So. thanks to the developers.

I tried that with the previous version (which is when the problem started. I hoped upgrading to 3.2 would solve it. Sadly no.

Did you see the server message from 123-reg? Does anyone know if that could be the issue as I’ve tried everything else advised.
