• Hi,

I’ve just upgraded a site to 3.5 using the updater.

The Media Library is now empty, and
Images are not showing in posts/pages.

Where can one check/set the wp-content/uploads directory now? In Media > Settings it no longer shows.

Any specific ideas (beyond the usual deactivate all the plugins or manually re-install)?

There seem to be a few folks with this problem.

    Thanks in advance.

You really need to view the 3.5 Master List and see if any of that applies to your installation.

Try enabling the javascript console on your browser to confirm if it’s a javascript issue or not.

It’s tricky to determine what the volume as people who don’t have an issue tend not to post here. But the ones who do all need to troubleshoot starting with the 3.5 Master list too. ??

Edit: Actually looking at your previous postings, this seems to predated the 3.5 upgrade for you.

You may need to look at your hosting as well.

I am having this exact problem with a new 3.5 upgrade — most of the images in my upload folders were not transferred to the upgraded site, and they have disappeared from the Media Library as well.

This issue is not addressed on the Master List, and the post linked above to the problem someone had with 3.42 is NOT relevant.

The problem is not from my hosting, either, nor is it javascript. The files are GONE, and the Media Library is practically empty. (Yes, I have a backup, but that doesn’t fix the Library issue.)

    Any help?

You can get help in your own thread – as was already suggested in another thread.

I’ve just realised we have the same problem. The media library is full and you can easily view them but when you try to insert a picture or file in a post, page or promotion the resulting pop up is completely blank. Now looks like we have duplicated images all over the place. I’m not a techy, can anyone tell me in simple terms what to do?

Then it’s probably best to hire someone to do the work for you.
