Upgraded to 4.2.2 and now getting an error when trying to get to dashboard

Same problem here! My site is hosted with Dreamhost and runs on Dreampress as well. Can’t get into the dashboard. I get the same error as you guys. Help!!

Hey guys i has been struggling with this since morning but here is the solution that worked for me

Simply rename the object-cache.php file located in wp-content folder. This file is usually created by caching plugins

That worked for me and by the my site is also on dreampress, my other sites on Namecheap did not have same issue

Indeed I have the same issue after upgrading to 4.2 and did the same. The problem is that W3TC plugin (although deactivated) creates a new object-cache file. And it’s not that easy to remove it completely.

Looks like mine has been fixed overnight without me doing anything. That last upgrade really screwed me up. Looks okay now!

Note to mods: If you’re going to delete comments from discussions, can you also delete the subscriptions to those threads? I get that this thread turned out to be a Dreamhost problem, but I don’t need to see updates if my comments are deemed off-topic and deleted.

I am posting this comment so I can disable the “notify me of follow-up posts via email” feature.

Dreampress fixed the problem by clearing the cache on the server. This thread should be resolved.

BensonManje, when you rename the object-cache.php file, do you leave it there once the Dashboard comes back? Or do you return it to its original name once it’s fixed?

Thank you @bensonmanje, that works for us. I think this is an issue that the WP team should be properly addressing. BTW, we are hosted with SiteGround. So I guess it is not a host specific issue but rather how WP re-write that object-cache.php file.
