upgraded to 4.5.2 and Page-list is not working

  • I just upgraded from WordPress 4.4.3 to 4.5.2 and all of my many pages using the Page-list plugin (version 5.1) are not working. The Page-list plugin said it did not need upgrading since it is good through WP 4.7. The affected pages have all just had [pagelist_ext] on them. I tried republishing one, and still I get a “nothing found” page. Here is a for instance.

    Well, it seems that something larger is happening. I can’t create a new page now or update an existing page. So I don’t think my problem is necessarily with Page-list. I’m going to try to figure out how to go back to 4.4.3 and restore my files.

    Hm, weird. It can be the issue with the theme.
    You may try to switch to the default one temporarily and see if it solves the issue.

    I’ve never changed the theme since I took over maintaining my own website from the original developer. If I change to the default theme, can I easily switch back to my own custom theme?

    In majority of cases you should be able to switch the theme without content loses. Sometime there can be some issues but those cases are rare.

    If the page still will be showing the error then the problem is much deeper.
    You may try to disable the plugins one be one and see if you can found the root of the the problem that way.

    But I would rather ask your developer to help in your case.
