• I really hope someone is able to help!
    Yesterday I upgraded to 5.1 and all appeared fine. I created a new blog post and noticed that it was failing to save. I tried pressing publish – after which it DID publish to the front page however failed to load when selected. Also failed to load in the backend.
    This morning I was able to load the blog post on my phone, then came to login on my computer and now enture site (front end and admin) will not load at all siting “error in establishing a database connection”.
    I was prepared to work through the publishing issues following the advice in forums but am really stuck now as simply can’t access site at all.

    I am not a developer but not a beginner – will try to take any advice offered!

    Thank you!

    HellO!
    I have just been on the phone with very helpful hosting and they updated the PHP settings on their end which …I think… has solved the problem!!

    Are you able to access the post on your end?

    @studiohome

    Thats awesome ??

    I’ve checked the page, it loaded a bit slow, maybe as there are so many Instagram posts on it, but it did load and is working fine.

    If you have any other queries, you can always come back here and create a new support request.

    Happy to help

    You have been SO helpful!
    I was really worried about not being able to access direct WordPress support but I believe this has been an even better service!

    I hope they pay you!!

    Yes post will be slow due to embeds but thats ok.
    Thanks again!

    Actually ….I may have spoken too soon!

    Looks like it is back to not being able to update my post as I am writing it??

    @studiohome

    About the support, www.ads-software.com is community driven and WordPress is open source.

    No one is getting paid here, but we all do it just for seeing the happiness on the face of WordPress users who are having an issue. Thats all what matters ??

    Now about the page edit issue, I suspect since that page is having way too many Instagram embeds, and the new editor tries to generate a preview for them all in the backend which means, you might have to wait a while for your changes to reflect while you’re editing, but they’ll(except your system runs out of memory). You can try the old classic editor, as I mentioned earlier, for this kind of posts.

    Well it is very generous to lend your knowledge!!!

    It looks like it is all working fine again for the mean time.

    Appreciate your help so much!

    Cheers

    You can mark this issue as resolved.
