Upgraded to v2 views – a few issues
-
Dear support,
I’ve upgraded my site to V2 views, as advised and now there are issues with the below items – can you help please?- No iCal / Apple Calendar link – only Google Calendar
- No featured images in the Widget
1 – This happens when I’ve selected “Tribe Event Styles” in the Display menu and “Default Page Template” is selected.
If I select “Default Events Template”, the button returns but then none of links on the page are clickable, at all.
https://theabyss.se/event/abysmal-grief-2022-04-19/2 – My front page is divided between events and news(the blog) and I’d like the events to show the featured images – is this something that is on the road map or available in the pro version?
Thank you and I look forward to your reply.

Hi @wilkymetal,
Thanks for reaching out to us. Sorry to hear that you are having this issue here. Appreciate you providing me more information here.
No iCal / Apple Calendar link – only Google Calendar
We do have an existing internal bug ticket for this one. I already added your case to it. The only workaround for this one is switching to the Block Editor, please do try it out and see if that makes a difference.
We don’t have a time estimate, but you’ll be notified with a reply when there are any updates. Rest assured that we are working on a permanent fix in regard to this issue.
No featured images in the Widget
This would require you to customize further, the good thing is that we do have a knowledge base article to do just that.
See the article here:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/adding-a-featured-image-to-the-event-list-widget/I want to note here that as per our Support Policy, we cannot provide full support for Customization or third party integrations, even if we have a guide on our Knowledge base. It is still up to you as the end user to implement this.
Let me know if this helps. We’d also notify you as soon as there are updates about the bug ticket here.
Best,
Abz________________________

Hey @wilkymetal,
No worries! I’m glad that I could help! I’d leave this ticket open, and please do keep me posted.
Have a great day as well, Paul.

TEC-4313Hi @abzlevelup,
I hope all is going well?
Thanks again for the tips and now I’ve switched to the update template AND changed to the block editor – https://theabyss.se/events/
Actually the team like it better and prefer the events without images so I lucked-out there. However, there is quite a lot of redundant CSS now as I styled the updated templates in the old editor. Any tips on what CSS selectors to remove?
Thanks again.
Hi @wilkymetal,
Everything is good here, hope it’s the same with you.
Good to know if that’s the case, in regard with the block editor.
However, there is quite a lot of redundant CSS now, as I styled the updated templates in the old editor. Any tips on what CSS selectors to remove?
Could you provide me a screenshot of what you see on your end? I would like to check the selectors, if it is redundant or if it is safe to remove it.
Looking forward to helping you further.
Best,
AbzSorry for the delay in getting back to you @abzlevelup!
I’m not sure I understand about the screenshot – the page or the CSS?
I thought it might be easier to put the code into this reply? Here is the CSS I have customised:

Hi @wilkymetal,
No worries, about the delay. All good, we’re here to help!
Apologies for the confusion, I was talking about the files where you found the redundancy, then I realized that you are trying to do an override via Custom CSS. I think there’s no harm with the redundant selectors here.
Let me know if this helps.
Best,
AbzThanks again, @abzlevelup!
Would you be able to summarise some of the classes that are redundant / don’t need styling anymore? Off the top of your head?
I would just like to streamline and cleanup the CSS for housekeeping.
Thank you very much.
Hi @wilkymetal, no worries, we’re here to help. I could not summarize it for you, however, I was able to check the CSS you sent me and I think it is good to go. A bit of a tip, if there’s something you’d need to force override, !important would come handy to force apply it to the property. Looking at your code, seems to optimize to me and specific to what you need.
Cheers,
AbzHi @wilkymetal
