I am beyond frustrated! after the upgrade, a plug in I have loved and used since May 2016 is not working. The pictures of my instagram feed are not showing, the load more button does nothing and the follow me button works when it feels like (sometimes I get an error and other times it just works perfectly). But, the main purpose was for the pictures of my feed to show and that is the only mission of the plug in and is not working!. I will appreciate help or tips if you have dealt with this after latest plug in update.

    Hey TeamGuerreras,

Sorry for the frustration! It looks like there are one or more JavaScript errors on the page that are preventing the plugin from working properly. When I manually execute the JavaScript for the plugin the feed displays and the “load more” button works:

    Hey MiroslavR,

Would it be possible to see the page that is having the issue first hand? You can send a link or contact us on our website:

    Same issue here:

I am using the Smash Ballon Instagram Feed Plugin for the page https://www.pflegezentrale.org, where I included my feed in the copyright bar of the footer. Until when I updated theme and plugins today, that worked perfectly fine. However, after the update, the feed won’t show anymore.

If I put the feed-code [instagram-feed] into a page content, it works just fine. You can check that on the page https://pflegezentrale.org/ueber-uns-test/

Any ideas what the problem could be?
Thanks a lot for your help!

    Hey christoph9976,

Your issue is likely pretty unique. It looks like something is changing the escaped double quotes our plugin uses to add an attribute with JSON into unescaped double quotes. This is causing a JavaScript error.

I’m thinking you can fix this by enabling the setting “load initial posts with AJAX” found on the “Customize” tab, “Advanced” area.

Let me know if you need more help!

    Thanks,

Hi Craig, I flush the website cache and I installed a debug plug in to debug the javascript, still not working (please bear with me I am not html programmer, I am using a wordpress template, actually the same template for the last 4 years and everything was perfect until SmashBalloon plug in latest upgrade). I will appreciate any extra help you could provide!. Thanks in advance

Sure! I can tell you that both of the errors are coming from files in your theme. So switching themes will fix the issue.

Another thing that will likely work is using the setting “enqueue JS file in head” found on the “Customize” tab, “Advanced” area.

    Hey Craig,

Thanks for your support! The “load initial posts with AJAX” tip did the trick.

    Much appreciated!

    Hi Craig

After contacting my theme developer, it seems it’s a theme glitch. As I said I am no html expert so I couldn’t fix this on my side, I had to wait for them to update the theme and hope that the issue gets solved. They had no next update date so I decided to change the theme as you suggest and voilá it worked. it took me some time to make all the adjustments and have my site up and running again but it was worth it.

Glad you were able to figure it out! Sorry to hear that you needed to change themes though as I’m sure it was a headache. It looks great in my opinion anyway!

Thank you!!! The good thing is that my plug in is working and the new theme is giving me a faster loading time (specially the mobile version of it). I decided to focus on the positive and this issue had nothing to do with Smash Balloon side. Thank you for all your help!!
