Upgraded to VPS from shared, now unable to access dashboard

  • Hope someone can help me out, I recently upgraded from shared hosting to VPS on bluehost, and the website works fine, but I can’t seem to access my dashboard anymore. I can get to the wordpress login page, but after I put in my username and pass, it tells me “Error establishing database connection”

    I can’t post anything, help!

  • This is really more of a hosting issue than a WP issue. Check with your host to see if you need to transfer your MySQL server over to the VPS as well. They should have don’t that automatically, but they may have had a glitch in the system at some point.
