Upgrades and more…
-
You know what’s been missing from WordPress since the beginning? The ability to INCREMENTALLY upgrade from the dashboard if you haven’t upgraded in a few minor, or even major, releases. The fact that plugins and themes aren’t always in-sync with the upgrade trajectory of WordPress makes it difficult sometimes to just take it on the chin when accepting a new upgrade to keep the nag notices away, only to break your popular blog because a critical plugin or your theme don’t work with the new release!
I manage about 4 blogs currently and this is a constant pain in my neck. It would make my life so much easier if an incremental “upgrade to next minor release” or “upgrade to next major release” option were available in the dashboard of these sites. Instead, I either have to rely on the backup/restore method of correction with the next major push (like the PHP related upgrades) or I have to manually do these upgrades later.
For the Developers – PLEASE – I IMPLORE YOU – Add some form of incremental release upgrade to the dashboard for those of us who would rather focus on content instead of bleeding edge technology upgrades that constantly break what we do!
Oh, and for the www.ads-software.com developers – I’m accessing from FireFox and Chrome and your “MegaMenu” is broken on both browsers!
