upgrading and email displays

  • I am a newbie (how many times have you heard that) I use siteground and fantastico. I recently installed wordpress 2.04 and within a few days it was up to 2.07. Fantastico installed my original. Q. Do I have to install from the beginning again and on every subsequent upgrade.
    Q2. Is there any way of keeping emails private from the users on the dashboard and only on display to the administrator.

    i love wordpress and have spent many hours trying to digest as much as I can but my head is swimming ?? At present my Script writing is zero

  • Fantastico should have an method of upgrading the install to 2.0.7 or whatever the latest version they have. If it’s earlier than 2.0.7, I would contact your host and see if maybe they haven’t upgrade Fantastico inself lately.

    Not sure about alowing Admin to view email addresses but you can just edit the column in wp-admin/users.php. See this bit?

    <th><?php _e('E-mail') ?></th>

    Change it to something like:

    <th>Email not displayed</th>
