Upgrading from 2.2

I’m helping a friend upgrade an older WordPress blog. It’s currently running WP 2.2.

I know that it’ll probably break if I do it all in one step, but I wondered if anyone had any advice.

Should I just do it in steps, using the archive of previous versions?
