    It should “just work”. Backup first, though. And expect that if you haven’t updated your theme since then, that it may have issues with current versions of WP, so check to see if there are updates for it.

    Site i was working on today has a custom made theme. Would it need any updates to work with the latest version of WP? (I did not create it)

    I have always wondered what was meant by updating themes. Maybe so they’ll work with a newer version of php?

    The theme *should* work, but probably won’t take advantage of changes made in WP over the last few years.
