    Hello Team,

I have been using kale as my website theme for over a year, I’m thinking about upgrading to Elara Pro. It looks so attractive and professional, I really want to pull the trigger on it but I am worried about what’s going to happen afterwards. Will it be an easy transition? will it be a major adjustments? Can somebody guide me through this so I don’t mess up anything that I have worked so hard on? Please help, thank you in advance!

    Best Regards,
    Maya

@maya160179 Thanks for reaching out and for using our themes, we appreciate it1

Regarding the move from one theme to another – the main adjustment would most likely be to the images. Kale and Elara have different aspect ratios (Kale images are horizontal, Elara has vertical images). So your two options are either
    1) to stick with the current images and make a change to Elara’s image sizes (see https://help.lyrathemes.com/article/334-how-to-change-featured-image-size)
    or
    2) use stick to the new Elara size and resize all current images to match the new specifications (see https://help.lyrathemes.com/article/207-how-to-fix-uneven-images)

One way would be to set up a temporary website in a folder on your main domain and once everything is set up as needed, move it to replace the main website. More details here: https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-properly-change-a-wordpress-theme/

Let me know if there are any questions we can help with.

    Hi Team,

After sometime finally I’m able to work on a post to publish again. I noticed the social media icon colors in my page are looking so busy. I like the color that shows in Elara Pro demo’s posts. I have questions on:

    1) How to make the colors just plain like in the demo post?
    2) I noticed the social media icons show above the featured image on the demo page but on my page (still in the draft) show under the featured image. How do I move them above the featured Image?

    Thank you in advance
    Best Regards,
    Maya

    Hi Maya,

Thanks for following up, looking good!

I think the difference on both of these questions is that the demo is using Jetpack’s sharing, while you’re using the icon block from Gutenberg, and the theme only includes built in styling overrides for the Jetpack icons.

Hope this helps, let us know if you need anything else!

    Hi Steven,

Problem solved, thank you so much! BUt it seems like jetpack is not supporting instagram. When I tried to add new service it is asking for URL of 16x16px icon, where do I get it?

    Thanks Steven!

    Hi Maya,

You’re right…Instagram isn’t a sharing option because it actually doesn’t support sharing links to other sites in this way. It is an option in the social media links (i.e., linking to your own IG account) as described here, but I see you already have that up and running in your header.

So unfortunately, even if you added IG as a new service with an icon, etc., it still wouldn’t work, since IG isn’t a sharing platform, per se.

I’m really sorry…if you need anything else, let me know! ??
