Upgrading from v1 to v3

    Version 3.0.0 of this plugin launched today, adding support for FontAwesome 5 icons.

    FontAwesome 5 icons are not directly compatible with FontAwesome 4 icons that you may already be using on your site.

    For any users upgrading from version 2.x of this plugin, there is nothing special you need to do after updating. This plugin will automatically set itself to continue using the FontAwesome 4.x icons you were using in previous version.

    However if you are upgrading from version 1.x of this plugin, the upgrader will not be able to detect that you were using an older version of this plugin, and it will configure itself to use FontAwesome 5 icons. This could cause issues on your site and it is recommended that you change back to FontAwesome 4 icons.

    To do so:

    1. Navigate to the FontAwesome Settings screen in the WP admin area. It can be found under Custom Fields -> FontAwesome Settings
    2. Set the ‘version’ setting to 4.x
    3. Click Save Settings
