Going around in circles here so hopefully someone can help.

Am using WP Job Manager and WooCommerce subscriptions on the Listify theme on wordpress

On our site – https://www.tattsamistake.com a business can choose to list their clinic either as a ‘free listing’; ‘featured’ or ‘premium’ (the last 2 are paid listings). All of these are listing subscriptions and associated with a particular listing.

Now over time I want a clinic on a free listing to upgrade to a featured listing, a featured to upgrade to a premium etc but……

Nowhere in the ‘My Account’ section does there seem to be the ability to change a subscription type.

In the WooCommerce Subscription settings I have ‘able to upgrade/downgrade’ selected.

Looking at the WooCommerce Subscription documentation, it seems that to be able to upgrade or downgrade, my products either need to be ‘variable subscriptions’ or ‘grouped products’ – but to associate a listing with a package it seems to be the case that I have to use ‘listing subscriptions’ and I can’t find anyway to tell WooCommerce subscriptions that they are ‘related’ products and upgradeable/downgradeable.

Bottom line is – I want a business to buy a package to list their business, and then at a later stage be able to change the subscription.

Can someone please tell me if

    a) I am missing something fundamental that I need to change
    b) is there an elegant solution that I am missing
    c) is there an ugly-workaround that I can use!

    Thanks in advance
    Aaron

@aaronos – I have the same issue and I’m awaiting a response. Did you manage to find a solution?

nothing that seems to work well at this stage, just some ugly work-arounds that don’t seem to be consistent in their application. basically you need to group the subscriptions together – you can only upgrade/downgrade between groups subscriptions but it still seems quite buggy

@aaronos – Do you have anything you can share to help? I’m in the same boat and am pretty surprised this isn’t a core feature – I mean, most subscriptions feature this functionality?!

@rwolfenden – WC Subscriptions does have this functionality – it’s a specific integration with WC Paid Listings that’s needed to allow up/downgrading between listing package subscriptions.

You’d be better contacting the team at WP Job Manager as they don’t provide support on this forum. A fix may already be in progress…

    Hey @mrsminkie (nice name! ?? ).

Yeah, I think I’ve figured it out (the workaround I mean). I’ve got the full bundle from WP Job Manager (including the WC Paid Listings plugin).

Looking forward to a fix, but in the meantime this may work out well for me ??

    Hi Rob

    Do you fancy sharing?? ??

    Of course! ??

Bear in mind, I’m testing this as I actually type! So it may not be 100% yet..but it’s looking very promising…

So, these are the steps I tried.

    1) Create a new Product and choose “Product Data” as a “Grouped Product”
    2) Call this “Listings Subscriptions” or whatever you feel is most appropriate for the Group of your subscriptions.
    3) Save

    For each of your Subscriptions:
    1) My “Product Data” is set as “Job Package Subscriptions” for each one
    2) Under “Linked Products” and “Grouping” select your newly created “Listings Subscriptions” Product type
    3) Update each Subscription Product.

In WooCommerce > Settings > Subscriptions Tab
    1) Go to the section called “Switching”
    2) Enable Switching for the option “Between Grouped Subscriptions”
    3) Select any other options underneath that are applicable for you.

Thats pretty much where Im up to at the moment, let me know how you get on! ??

    R

I’m not working on that site at the moment, so please do update this thread if you’re successful.

I’d also like to give customers the choices of paying monthly, yearly etc. with a price adjustment (cheaper) for paying more upfront. When I go back to the project I’ll be looking at the subscriptions in more detail – I’m hoping in the meantime, there is an update! ??

    From what I can see, here’s a possible issue…

When downgrading, any “premium” based subscription fields (that are hidden on “free” subscription listings) remain.

For example, Im using the WC Field Editor Plugin to limit certain listing fields to “Paid For” listing types only. For example, a business logo.

I created a “free” listing and subscription, then upgraded it to a “paid for” subscription. I then added the logo via the newly available “logo” field.

I then downgraded the same listing back to the “free” listing, the company logo remains..

    Ah…

You may want to contact Miles about that – he may be able to apply a fix.

I’ve raised a couple of tickets via their support system, so lets see if we can come up with a solution ??

    Great – good luck!

This is exactly what I was looking for! Any luck figuring out the “downgrading” issue? If somebody downgrades can it automatically remove their paid extras?

Yeah it works fine now, depending on the field. I had to contact Myles (creator of the WP Custom Fields plugin) but its looking like its resolved now.
